You must stop whenever you approach a stopped school bus with its upper alternating red lights flashing, regardless of whether you are behind the bus or approaching it from the front.
Pedestrians crossing with the light always have the right-of-way over all others at an intersection when the signal light is green.
When police officers are directing traffic, you must follow their directions, even if the directions are different from traffic lights or signs.
If you become very tired while driving, you should always stop and rest.
If you change your name or address, you are required to notify the Ministry of Transportation and Communications within 6 days.
If the passengers are 16 and older, they are responsible for buckling themselves up, and not the driver.
If your right wheels drop off the roadway, do not make a sharp turn. Instead, take your foot off the gas pedal allowing vehicle to slow down, and only then steer gently, to return back on the road.
A solid line in the described situation means that it is unsafe to overtake and pass.
To make a left turn, signal well before the turn and move into the far left lane, but still to the right of the yellow dividing centre line, to make sure you are not blocking the way for the oncoming traffic.
Before changing lanes, you must always give proper signal and look to make sure the move can be made safely.
Straighten out your steering wheel slowly. Don't turn your steering wheel in different directions while trying to correct the skid; work on one direction at a time. If you've oversteered and the vehicle slides in the opposite direction, repeat the same procedure as before. Always steer in the direction you want to go.
When approaching an intersection and you notice the roadway beyond the intersection is blocked with traffic, you should stop before entering the intersection and wait until traffic ahead moves on. If not, the light may turn red for you and green for other vehicles and you will end up blocking the intersection.
Broken white lines (dashes) are used on one-way streets and highways when there is more than one lane of traffic moving in the same direction.
Highway 407 is an express toll route (pay toll highway) and you have to pay to be able to use it.
If the passengers are 16 and older, they, not the driver, are responsible for buckling themselves up.
It is generally not acceptable to lend a driver's license to someone else. A driver's license is a personal identification document that confirms an individual's qualifications to operate a motor vehicle legally. It is issued to a specific individual and should only be used by that person.
When is it legal for a driver to turn left on a red light?
In Ontario, Canada, as of my last update in September 2025, when a driver's license is reinstated after a 15-point suspension, the driver's point total is typically reduced to seven points. This reduction occurs because the driver's license was suspended at 15 demerit points, and as a condition of reinstatement, the points are reduced to seven.
When a driver approaches a junction with a stop sign facing them, they are required by law to come to a complete stop before proceeding through the intersection. After stopping, the driver should carefully assess the traffic conditions in all directions and wait until it is safe to proceed before moving forward.
