✍️ Sample ACE Questions & Answers
1. Which Photoshop feature allows you to warp text along a custom path shape?
Type on a Path lets you place text that flows along any open or closed vector path.
2. In a multi-layer compositing workflow, which blend mode is most useful for combining a texture layer over a portrait while preserving the original colors?
Overlay blend mode combines Multiply and Screen, enhancing midtone contrast while letting the underlying colors show through, making it ideal for adding texture while preserving color.
3. What is the primary advantage of converting a layer to a Smart Object before applying a filter?
Smart Filters applied to Smart Objects are stored as editable, maskable, and toggle-able entries below the Smart Object layer, enabling fully nondestructive filter workflows.
4. What is the primary benefit of using Smart Objects when managing source files in Photoshop?
Smart Objects wrap source content so scaling, warping, and filtering leave the original data intact and re-editable.
5. When retouching eyes to enhance catch lights, which approach maintains the most realistic appearance?
Painting a catch light on a Screen mode layer and adjusting opacity mimics the natural specular highlight without creating an overly artificial look.
6. Which Photoshop feature allows you to preview how an image will look on a specific output device before printing?
Soft Proofing simulates on screen how the image will appear when printed using a specified output profile.
